Firstdrill has extensive knowledge and expertise within South Asia, having completed offshore projects notably in India and Vietnam.
India
Firstdrill has completed two wells for OAO Gazprom in the Bay of Bengal offshore India's East coast. Firstdrill was responsible for the total Project Management from Rig acceptance to final close out including contracts, well engineering, operational management, financial and procurement support.
Firstdrill also acted on OAO Gazprom's behalf as the intermediary between client and service companies to ensure efficient and successful operations. This operation was managed from New Delhi and the wells were drilled with the Galaxy Driller semi submersible rig.
Vietnam
Firstdrill completed drilling the second well in Bac Bo Bay for VietGazprom offshore Vietnam. The first well that Firstdrill drilled for VietGazprom was drilled $4 million under budget. Firstdrill was responsible for the total Project Management from Rig acceptance to final close out including contracts, well engineering, operational management, financial and procurement support. This operation was managed from Hanoi and the wells were drilled with the Neptune Discoverer, a turret mounted conventionally moored drillship.
