Description:
The drilling manager will operate out of our Bournemouth Office and at drilling locations as required.
As a leading member of the senior management team you will be responsible for overall project management and operational efficiency of the Drilling Engineers, Supervisors and associated project staff. Managing, motivating and developing the Firstdrill team, you will improve productivity and control costs whilst enhancing overall performance. By providing excellent and in-depth engineering experience, you will be able to support and interact in both a ''hands-on'' and strategic manner with the client, your subordinates and colleagues.

Requirements:
- Supervise well planning and engineering processes.
- Provide guidance and direction on engineering.
- Ensure well programmes and associated documentation is developed and executed based on sound technical evaluations through internal and external review by the appropriate disciplines.
- Ensure operations are monitored and that required materials and services are specified and available as and when required.
- Ensure well equipment proposed for drilling and completing the well are fit for purpose and timely available.
- Review well engineering plans and programs to ensure compliance with technical and safety standards and make any recommendations to the client.
- Monitor implementation of well engineering programs and measure implementation against set targets. • Review drilling projects and drive optimisation.
- Provide technical assistance is provided throughout planning, operational and close out phases.
- Recruit local engineering support staff.
- Ensure appropriate levels of reporting and analysis are held by the engineers and supervisors.
- Initiate utilization of new technology as appropriate to enhance the drilling process.
- Supervising subordinates, service companies; making presentations and the ability to develop staff. Provide on-going relationship management with all partners and develop new business.
- Ensuring all wells are designed and supervised in the most cost effective way, given full consideration to all HSE aspects, relevant policies and regulations.
Essential Skills:
- A proactive professional with a minimum of 20+ years of well engineering experience both on and off shore.
- University Degree in Engineering.
- Good financial acumen, cost analysis/budgeting and negotiation skills.
- Effective communicator/influencer at all levels and strong negotiation skills.
- Valid IWCF Supervisor Level.
Desired Skills:
- BSc in Petroleum Engineering
- Preferably fluent in more than one language.
- Ability to Prioritise
- Enthusiastic, Positive and Flexible
