Job Information:
Office position based in Bournemouth.Education:
RequiredEngineering degree, Bachelor level (Honors preferred)
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical drilling expertise
- Reporting to the Operations Manager
- Ensure the planned wells are drilled and tested in a safe, cost effective, and an environmentally responsible manner, adhering to all company core values, corporate requisites and policies, and legislation.
- Lead technical role for drilling program planning and preparation, including casing and cementing design, directional planning if required, drilling assembly and drilling procedures. Previous experience in an integrated well team essential.
- Develop drilling strategies, operational plans and implementation of operations.
- Provide input, opinion and assistance on all engineering and operational aspects of ongoing daily drilling activities as required.
- Prepare drilling and testing cost estimates for AFEs and Budgets.
- Assist in the preparation, evaluation and contract awards for support services and materials, including selection of the drilling rig. Administer contracts with outside suppliers of equipment and services.
- Review drilling operations and engineering performance and make recommendations to improve operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Information quality checks on reports and monitoring during operational phase. Compilation of the End of Well Reports.
- Ensure that the well plans are being followed and operational guidelines are being executed ensuring safety and environmental programs are being followed.
- The position is required to interface with operations, multiple contractors, and partners to optimize the drilling and testing operations to ensure the efficient and cost effective implementation of the goals of the overall project are achieved.
Qualifications:
Required & Preferred Skills/Competenciesn.
- Honors Engineering degree.
- High level of competency in onshore operations.
- Competent in using drilling design software i.e. Well Plan, Compass, Torque & Drag, Hydraulics, etc.
- Self-starter.
- Lead and finish specialized engineering studies with or without outside assistance.
- Team player with strong communication, networking and motivational skills.
- Standard skills: Uncompromising adherence to company core values. Good judgment and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to create an environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement. Planning and organizing skills. Good interpersonal skills either one-on-one or in a group situation.
Desired Experience Leveln.
- Minimum 12 years of Drilling Engineering and Operations experience.

- Effective within a multi-discipline team environment - Strong analytical skills.
